Feeding Time

Friday, 29 January 2010 11:17 by Mari

I cannot believe how fast time is going by... I've had an eventful two weeks. Euan has been growing very fast lately could be because we started him on solid foods.

He used to cry, scream and shout everytime I was to eat something - even before I started eating he will know I'm preparing something to eat. I would give him food to try from my fingers. But he wanted more. The leaflets I read about say you should start at around 6 months so I was a bit worried that I'm going to start him early. When I couldn't wait any longer, I gave the health visitor a call and she said I should start him on some baby rice.

I got him the baby rice and that same evening I made him some. Wolfed it down like someone's chasing him. So I made him some more, and more, and more... It seems like he never stops eating - wonder where he gets THAT from. :)

I gave him some vegetables the next day and yesterday we went to the baby clinic for a weigh. He now weighs 7kg - a good weight. They suggested I start to give him lunch too now - looking forward to another mess at noon :)

Luckily the Rainforest Fisher-Price highchair we got him from Amazon.co.uk makes life easier as it's got adjustable heights and three reclining positions. Also, both the back of the chair and the straps are all machine washable and it also has a removable tray that you can pop in the dishwasher.

Glad to hear its going well, and very good that you called so you could start him on some foods before you went for that visit. Hopefully he will be a bit more happy baby now :)

He definitely is. He puts on the biggest smile on his face when his tummy's full!
