We're just back from 3 days in Wales. I had mixed feelings about this at first. Both of us really needed this holiday but I was a bit worried about how E will behave, what things to take etc. We decided to go somewhere in the UK where we don't need to take the plane and we can drive, to play it safe for a first time.
I packed an extra bag for the baby's clothes, nappies and other stuff that he might need along with his beloved music dog. He's got this dog which plays 3 tunes and flashes its nose when playing them and E just loves it. It keeps him quiet when he's getting bored!
He slept all the way to Wales. The trip took us 3hrs to do and we stopped once to top E up and change him. In the meantime we had lunch.
At the cottage that we were staying we had a baby cot. I took bed linen with me for him to make it cosy. He adjusted very well and even seemed to enjoy the fresh air. He is now more alert and kind of knows what's happening around him. He couldn't take his eyes off some ducks while we were feeding them!
All in all it was a very good family holiday, even though a bit short and we got to spend some quality time together as a family. Also, we had a good well needed rest!
