Lately I discovered the website http://www.fillintheblankie.com/. It is a cool website where you can personalize and create your very own blanket. I got a summer one for E to mark his second birthday. It's made of quality cotton with a silk lining. I chose a brown font and had "Top: Euan; Left: two years old on 11th August 2011; Bottom: I wish I may, I wish I might; Right: Have the wish I wish tonight" written on all sides of the blanket. The options are endless. If you get the blanket as a gift you could write "To our godson <baby name> from your loving Auntie <your name>" or use the traditional "Baby <baby name> born on <date> at <time> weighing <weight>". Using the child's favourite nursery rhyme would also be nice. You can also choose to get a soft toy wrapped in the blanket, have glow in the dark text, add illustrations etc. I quite liked the cuddle factor with 10 being the softest. You can choose the quality of material, weight and size.

Since it was sent from the US it took two weeks to get here and, to be honest, the postage and packing fee was slightly expensive. However it comes in cute packaging fastened with a silk ribbon and a nappy safety pin.
All in all I think it's a practical gift to get for any baby and toddler and I'm sure it will be treasured when they grow up as well.

The main project right now is to spring clean Euan's room and re-decorate it to make it look a bit more interesting for a little man. The theme is going to be jungle animals.
We had got some window gel stickers as a present and we're going to fix those to the window. I bought these wall stickers from Amazon.co.uk and they look great. Best of all they are removable so if we decide to move we can stick them on the new nursery. They retail at a very competitive price compared to other wall stickers and the package includes 21 jungle characters including Monkey (16cm), Tiger (20.7cm), Flamingo (14cm), Elephant (22cm), Lion (21.2cm), Tortoise (10cm) and scene setters - parrots, leaves, dragonfly, tufts of grass, paw prints and a pair of peeping eyes.
There is also a double bed in his room which we are going to transform into a play corner for him. I got a colourful sheet which we can use and put all his soft toys on there until he's ready to start using it. I still need to think about how I'm going to make it safe for him though so if you have any ideas I will appreciate your comments.
