We've been to our 36 week hospital appointment yesterday and the baby is doing fine and looks like he has a healthy weight. After the visit to the midwife everything seemed normal however at the ultrasound scan we were told the naughty baby is breech, that is, head up - bottom down - sitting (un)comfortably on my bladder. Or that's how I imagined him.
The doctor wants to see us again in a weeks' time and he's giving him another week to turn head down. In case he doesn't, they'll try to turn him and if the baby persists in staying that way, we'll have to book a c-section. We're not very keen on this however if this happens we'll have the baby in around 2 weeks time! I'm a bit put off by the pain and complications that can or might arise from this procedure. We're going to have help around the house so that's not an issue but I'm less than happy about the idea at having to lie down in an operating theatre for an hour (15 to get baby out + 45 to get sewn back together again) with people pulling and tugging in my belly.
Fortunately our friends AB & TB called in the evening and we had a very encouraging chat about this and about having to stay in hospital for a few days (it's not as bad as it sounds). Guess everything happens for a reason. So I went to bed feeling less anxious.
Well, so today I've been out with Sindy again we had lunch together and then I made use of her muscle power (?!) by going food shopping. While we were walking around I could feel the little one turning again and I was pretty sure that was his head going down. He spent these past few days moving, kicking and trying to go round in all directions in his little restricted space in my huge belly. Looks like he still hasn't found a comfortable enough spot and make up his mind where he wants to stay!
Hope he settles down in a head-down position like a good baby and stays there for a few more days. :)
